Light Painting with Long Exposure
Light and darkness are such interesting things. Before I really started to learn about photography I assumed you could only take pictures in the light, otherwise, you couldn’t see anything. Right? That is until I learned about long exposure and a technique called light painting.
Light Painting
Light painting is where you use some form of light in the dark to “paint” in photography. With a long shutter speed, the camera is able to capture more light as well as the movement of that light.

Here are five examples of light painting photography. These were all shot indoors at night in near pitch darkness. I illuminated the subjects with a flashlight and a reflector.
